Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about ocean shipping.

FCL means you get a whole container to yourself. 20ft or 40ft. LCL means your cargo shares a container with other shippers, and you pay only for the space you use. FCL is usually faster because there's no consolidation step. LCL saves money if you don't have enough cargo to fill a box.
It depends on the route. Asia to the U.S. West Coast is roughly 12-18 days. East Coast via Panama is 25-35 days. Asia to Europe is about 28-35 days. If there's a transshipment stop, add a few more days. We'll give you exact schedules when you book.
Two to three weeks ahead is a good rule of thumb. During peak season (August through October for trans-Pacific), aim for four to six weeks so you don't get stuck without equipment. If it's urgent, we can usually find space on shorter notice through our carrier relationships.
Yes. You'll get access to our tracking portal where you can see exactly where your container is. You'll also get automatic alerts for key milestones. Departure, transshipment, arrival, delivery. And you can always call or email your coordinator for a live update.
Not really. The carrier's liability is usually capped around $500 per unit, which almost never covers your actual goods. We can arrange all-risk marine cargo insurance for you that covers the full value of your shipment from warehouse to warehouse. We'd strongly recommend it.
